This website is operated by Local Key Community Guides ("we," "us," "our"). Throughout this site, these terms apply to all users, including browsers, advertisers, and contributors of content.

By visiting our site and/or purchasing advertising through us, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, including our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy. If you don't agree to these terms, please don't access the website or use our services.

We may update these Terms from time to time by posting changes to this page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept them.

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc., which provides the e-commerce platform behind our advertising sales.

Section 1 — Advertising Services

We sell print and digital advertising space in The Local Key, a community guide distributed across the Upper Ottawa Valley. Ad purchases are governed both by these Terms and by the specific advertising contract associated with your order, which covers ad specifications, proofing and approval, artwork submission requirements, and cancellation terms in detail.

By purchasing an ad, you represent that you're authorized to enter into this agreement on behalf of the business or organization named on the order.

Section 2 — General Conditions

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, at any time, for any reason.

You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit any part of our Service without our express written permission.

Content you submit (not including payment information) may be transmitted over networks and adapted to technical requirements of connecting systems. Payment information is always encrypted in transit.

Section 3 — Accuracy of Information

Information on this site is provided for general reference. We aren't responsible for typographical errors, and we reserve the right to correct pricing, ad specifications, or other details at any time, including after an order has been placed. Ad rates and specifications are subject to change without notice for future bookings; they don't change for orders already confirmed.

Section 4 — Advertising Fees and Orders

Advertising fees are set out at the time of your order and confirmed in your advertising contract. We reserve the right to limit or decline orders at our discretion, including where order details appear inaccurate or incomplete.

You agree to provide current, accurate business and billing information, and to keep it updated so we can complete your order and reach you when needed.

Section 5 — Optional Third-Party Tools

We may give you access to third-party tools (such as design or upload tools) that we don't control. These are provided "as is," without warranty, and any use of them is at your own risk — please review the relevant third party's own terms.

Section 6 — Third-Party Links

Our site may link to third-party websites not affiliated with us. We aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices — review their policies before engaging with them directly.

Section 7 — Submissions and Content You Provide

If you submit artwork, logos, text, comments, or other materials to us for your ad or otherwise, you confirm that you own or hold all necessary rights to that material, and you agree to indemnify us against any claim arising from its use — consistent with the rights confirmation in your advertising contract.

We may decline or remove any submitted content that, in our judgment, infringes on intellectual property, is unlawful, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate for a community publication.

Section 8 — Prohibited Uses

You may not use this site: for any unlawful purpose; to violate applicable laws or regulations; to infringe on intellectual property rights; to harass or discriminate against others; to submit false or misleading information; to transmit viruses or malicious code; to collect others' personal information; or to interfere with the site's security or normal operation.

Section 9 — Disclaimer of Warranties; Limitation of Liability

We don't guarantee that use of our Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Our liability for any error, omission, or failure to publish an advertisement is limited to the cost of the advertising space purchased, consistent with your advertising contract. We aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.

Section 10 — Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Local Key Community Guides, its officers, agents, and contractors from any claim arising from your breach of these Terms or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Section 11 — Severability

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

Section 12 — Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable within it.
